In the Company of God provides a glimpse into the complex world of
Iraq's religion and politics during the 2003-2005 occupation by the US-
led Coalition Forces. It is, in part, a personal attempt to comprehend
the level of religious and political faith that has led many Shi'a Iraqis into
self-sacrifice and even martyrdom.
